Luis Barragán-Inspired Tablescape
For another exciting year, interior designer Lori Miller participated in The Orchid Dinner at The New York Botanical Garden, an elegant fundraising event supporting the garden's orchid research collection. In collaboration with Angel Salazar Designs, LGC Interiors created a breathtaking tablescape that captured the essence of Mexican modernist architecture, inspired by the renowned architect Luis Barragán.
The tablescape featured a stunning composition of dramatic heights and bold, vibrant colors that reflected Barragán's architectural influence while incorporating contemporary design elements. Magenta orchids, golden-yellow branches, and deep burgundy florals emerged from a rich teal tablecloth, creating a visual feast that balanced sophistication with joyful expression. The design included thoughtful geometric touches in the table settings that complemented the lush botanical arrangement.
"Collaborating with Angel Salazar for The Orchid Dinner is always a wonderful creative journey," Lori commented. "We wanted to honor Barragán's distinctive vision while creating something fresh and vibrant. The combination of architectural elements with the natural beauty of orchids allowed us to craft a dramatic and intimate space, inviting guests to experience the magic of design and nature in harmony."
