Meet our Founder
Lori Miller brings a unique perspective to interior design, blending her extensive background in mental health counseling with her artistic vision to create spaces you love. Her design journey was anything but conventional—before founding LGC Interiors, Lori served as one of New York's first HIV Counselors, directed the Crime Victims Program for the Queens District Attorney, and managed psychiatric units at Rikers Island Correctional Center.
These formative experiences instilled in Lori a profound understanding of how our surroundings impact our emotional well-being. "Working in challenging environments early in my career helped me to understand that our surroundings can affect our mental health," Lori explains. "When we design a space for you, I'm not just thinking about aesthetics—I'm considering how each element will contribute to your sense of safety, comfort, and joy."
Known for her signature "sophisticated whimsy" approach, Lori creates spaces that balance traditional warmth and contemporary lines with playful touches.

Design Process
"Layering is essential to creating depth in design," Lori notes, "It’s the carefully chosen accessories that truly personalize a space." Our talent for curating these meaningful details and seamlessly blending traditional elements with modern sensibilities has become a hallmark of LGC Interiors' distinctive approach.
Color selection is another cornerstone of our process. "I've studied how color affects our emotional state," says Lori. "When I design, I'm always considering how each shade contributes to creating a sense of calm and balance." This sensitivity also extends to material selection—having faced her own health challenges, Lori is passionate about creating environments that promote wellness through thoughtful choices in everything from furniture materials to cleaning products used in the home.
Learn more about our design process.
At LGC Interiors, exceptional design begins with deep understanding. Our process starts with aesthetics and how you experience your space emotionally.
"The first step is always about listening," Lori explains. "We sit with our clients and explore everything from daily routines to color preferences, including your furbabies. This in-depth conversation reveals how a space will function and what truly matters to the people living there."
This thoughtful discovery phase allows us to create environments that feel authentically yours—spaces that reflect your personality while nurturing your well-being. Every element is intentionally selected.
